Our Story Begins in Bristol Bay

Bristol Bay, Alaska is home to the largest wild sockeye salmon run on Earth—a place where rivers run free, ecosystems thrive, and salmon return year after year, vibrant and nutrient-rich. It’s also where our founder, Meghan Luck, grew up fishing with her family. Long summer days on the water taught her what it means to harvest with care—for the fish, the ocean, and future generations. Today, Fable Fish is proud to source its salmon from that same fishery, protected by the world’s strictest science-based regulations to ensure it continues to thrive. We turnhigh-quality cuts of this extraordinary fish into clean, craveable jerky—bringing a taste of wild Alaska to wherever your story takes you.

The Salmon That Raised Us

Sockeye salmon stands apart. Its striking red color, firm texture, and naturally rich flavor are the result of a life spent swimming thousands of miles through cold, clean Alaskan waters. High in protein and omega-3s, it’s a nutritional powerhouse—but also a joy to eat. Its lean meat holds up beautifully to slow smoking, giving our jerky its signature savory bite, no added nonsense required.

We choose cuts others overlook—necks, tails, and collars—because respecting the fish means using more of it. These flavorful, nutrient-rich pieces are where our process begins.

A message from Meghan

I started Fable Fish to reimagine the future of wild-caught seafood. But long before I founded this company, these values—sustainability, premium quality, and reverence for wild food—were personal to me. I grew up on fishing boats in Alaska, harvesting salmon from pristine waters and living in symbiosis with some of the most beautiful places on earth (at least, in my humble opinion!). That rare connection—between the food I ate and the land and ocean that sustained me—shaped how I believe people deserve to nourish themselves: with foods that are clean, nutrient-dense, and deeply connected to the natural world.
